About Me

My name is Veenadhari Kollipara and I am a senior at the University of Pennsylvania (Class of 2022) pursuing a BA in Health & Societies (Concentration: Health Policy and Law) and a minor in Cinema & Media Studies. I am interested in learning about the interdisciplinary nature of medicine and policy. My experiences working as a Health Education Associate in a Philadelphia middle school and as a clinical volunteer at homeless shelters have made me interested in working on health equity issues with marginalized communities. I am always ready to take on new experiences and learn more about the world.

In Fall 2022, I will be attending a medical school in Pennsylvania. As I continue to learn about the US healthcare system, I plan to continue using film and digital media to increase awareness of health issues and advocate for my community.

I would also like to thank the Hoesley Digital Literacy Fellowship for providing numerous resources and workshops to help assist my project on increasing awareness of Philadelphia’s health disparities and non-profits which are tackling those problems through film and digital media. I would also like to specifically thank Dr. Amanda Licastro and Dr. Christine Kemp for being such amazing mentors and helping me elevate my project.
